Donate

Donations by Businesses, Schools, and Other Organizations

Goodwill actively solicits donations of “retired” computers from businesses, schools and other organizations, both large and small. Many businesses, schools, and large organizations face an economic and environmental challenge when they must dispose of large quantities of old computers in order to upgrade their systems.

  • Pick-up service available.
  • We take ALL computers – no computer is too old!
  • Certified Data-Destruction service available.
  • Donations benefit Goodwill’s job-training and education programs.
  • What happens during the donation process?

Computer donations are picked up by anywhere in the agency’s service area of southwestern Pennsylvania and north central West Virginia. To schedule a pick-up, please ensure you have a minimum of 20 units for donation. A $200 pick-up fee will apply. The equipment is refurbished to be sold to the public at Goodwill’s retail stores.

Goodwill offers data destruction service

If your business requires certification of data destruction, Goodwill offers Kil-A-Byte Data Destruction Service. Initially developed for healthcare organizations that must comply with the privacy law known as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), it can help any business that is concerned about the security of proprietary information. Customers who choose to use Kil-A-Byte’s services receive a certificate of data destruction from Goodwill’s Compliance Officer confirming that the data has been destroyed. Kil-a-Byte services are provided at $20 per hard drive.
