This free course is created for individuals who are ready to start their future, build confidence with technology, and explore career opportunities with Career Services integrated into the classes.
The PATH Cohort is a new training experience built from the Goodwill Tech Academy’s commitment to access, opportunity, and career advancement. Designed as a starting point for learners entering technology, PATH offers a structured, supportive pathway into digital skills and employment. This course follows a hybrid approach with two virtual and one in-person class for a total of 3 nights a week. Our in-person class will be held at the Goodwill Morgantown Opportunity Center, located at 1954 Hunters Way, Morgantown, WV 26505.
Two Phases. One Pathway Forward.
The PATH Cohort is delivered into two connected phases, designed to meet learners where they are while creating clear pathways to employment.
Phase One: Foundational Skills & Career Readiness
March 24, 2026 – April 16, 2026
Phase One focuses on building essential digital and workplace skills, and job-seeking skills that prepare learners for continued training and employment including
- Strengthening core digital skills
- Gaining a practical understanding of how technology is used on the job
- Learning best practices for working safely and effectively online
- Introductory experience with common workplace tools
- Support in professional communication, customer service, and job search preparation
- Career services to help clarify goals, build resumes, and prepare for employment
Learners who enroll in Phase One will continue directly into Phase Two as a part of the full PATH experience.
Phase Two: Career Pathway Training & Certification Preparation
April 28, 2026 – June 25, 2026
Phase Two is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing careers in Information Technology, Administration, and Healthcare pathways, including support with:
- Deeper technical training
- Hands-on learning
- Certification preparation
- Assistance with the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate certification exam
Career Services remain fully integrated to support learners as they prepare for employment in high-demand fields. For individuals who already have strong foundational skills, direct enrollment into Phase Two may be available.
